Installation in Offshore Oil Extraction
Subsea pipeline installation is a crucial step in the offshore oil extraction process, ensuring that crude oil and other fluids are efficiently transported from reservoirs to processing facilities. After geotechnical engineers identify a profitable oil reserve, pipelines, known as production lines, are laid to carry the crude oil to either onshore or offshore facilities. These pipelines also play a key role in transporting processed oil and gas products back to shore, known as export pipelines, and can be used to inject gas or water into reservoirs to maintain pressure and enhance extraction. The installation process involves deploying pipelines from specialized vessels using advanced tools and engineering techniques to ensure the mechanical integrity of the pipelines under the challenging conditions of the ocean.
