This short training course is designed for pipeline/operations/integrity engineers and managers to prepare through planning and conducting a hydrostatic test.  The following will be discussed for the need for hydrostatic testing:

• Assess the stability of pipeline defects controlled by hoop stress (i.e., internal pressure).
•  Establish/Validate/Increase the maximum allowable operating pressure (Code of Federal Regulation,
•   Re-qualify the pipeline after a class location change.
•   Establish re-assessment intervals.
•   Verify pipeline integrity after a pressure excursion/reversal above the pipelines MAOP.
•    Meet TVC requirements.
